I Love You, Beth Cooper

I finished another one. It's not a romance or anything, just a book Brandon wanted me to read. It is I Love You, Beth Cooper by Larry Doyle. It was like reading a teen movie. I'm surprised it hasn't already been made into one.

The whole story takes place in one day, graduation day. Denis, the main character, is a smart, nerdy valedictorian and during his graduation speech he announces that he loves Beth Cooper, the popular cheerleader. He also says a few things to piss off other students. Hilarity ensues. Kind of.

For most of the book I felt sorry for the guy. Each chapter has a drawing of what Denis looks like (see the cover) as everything happens to him. He looks worse and worse as the book progresses. A lot of the situations made me realize how wonderful it is not to be a teenager and how much of a dork I am cause I knew what the characters were referenceing. It was a good book and really easy to get through. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys teen movies like The Breakfast Club or Weird Science.
