Official First Post!!

Hey everyone!!! I'm horrible about actually getting online and doing more than a search for something or just checking my e-mail (most of the time not responding to mail). So, here it is, my cookie recipe. It's taken me quite some time to come up with this one. With a little advice and criticism from my family and friends, I think it's just right now.

Joy's Most Gratuitous Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup low-fat butter (I like yogurt butter)
1/2 cup gran. sugar
1/4 cup alternative sweetener
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 egg (or egg substitute)
---------
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup wheat germ
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 heaping cup raisins (or nuts or other filler)
1 pack (12 ounces) dark chocolate chips

*Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butters, sugars and egg. Stir in flour, wheat germ, baking soda and salt. Stir in raisins and chocolate chips. Drop dough by Large rounds (small baseball to large golfball size) onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet (about six cookies per large cookie sheet). Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly golden. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet onto rack (leaving on the parchment is a lot easier).

I hope you try it out!
