I'm on a roll.

I finished another book that I started two months ago. It's called Working for the Devil by Lilith Saintcrow. It is the total opposite of The Name of the Wind. The story just jumps in and you don't really know (or find out) who anyone is or what objects are because they have lame made-up futuristic words. For example, in the future movies are called holovids. You are not explicitly told this, you just gotta pickup on it. I hate that. There's probably a lot I didn't catch cause there wasn't a glossary of future-speak.
I found this gem in the sci-fi section, so I wasn't expecting much sex, and I was not disappointed in that regard. The main idea of the book is that it's the future, there are people with psionic powers that can raise the dead, or have visions, or have premonitions, that kinda thing. The main character Dante Valentine(Danny) is hired by the devil to find a demon that stole something from him and she is given a demon of her own to aide in the hunt. A few of her friends tag along, bonding and fighting ensues...
I don't want to be too negative here, I saw a lot of potential in the story and characters, so I will be purchasing the second in this series at a much later date. There are 5 in this series, so something's gotta get better, right?
