Dead Men Don't Get the Munchies

I love a good mystery, BUT a good mystery, in my opinion, needs a detective that isn't a ditz. I like a mystery that keeps me guessing until the last page. Sure it can be cute or whatever when a plain-jane accidentally solves a bunch of mysteries through pure chance, but that gets old kinda quick. So that's why I didn't enjoy this book very much. It's the third "Cooking Class Mystery" and I started reading them because I was interested in the recipes and the cover artwork is cutsie, but they are not fulfilling my hunger for an intriguing murder mystery (and I'm a bit upset that Annie hasn't knocked boots with her hunky Scottish restaurant owner boyfriend). They are pretty quick reads though, and I guess if you don't pay too much attention to the plot you could end up surprised in the end, but I think you guys are smarter than that.
