Holy moly!!!! I just finished it and, WOW. It was taking me forever to read because the first 350-400 pages are all about the shitty life of Acheron before he receives his god powers. And it contained nothing but torture, pain, violence, cruelty, degradation and shattered hopes. It was hard because Ash is such a great character in all of Kenyons other books and I didn't want to read about all of his grief. But you have to read about the bad shit to truly appreciate when the good happens. Part 1 of the book also told the story of how the gods were involved in his life.
Part 2 was like any other Dark-Hunter book, except it was all about Acheron. And I love happy endings!!! That's all I'll say about that, because I know some of you might some day read this book. And if you reallllly like Kenyons other stories, or had a interest in mythology (atlantean or greek), then you would appreciate this book. I really enjoyed it.
