Well, I've found another decent series. This one is set in early 19th century England and is about a witch who becomes a vampire. This is the first book, there's another already out, and a third on the way. There is sex, sword fighting, magic, ancient evil succubus demons...and it was a quick read.
In this book, I experienced my first "hot gay dudes gettin it on" scene. At first, I was like, woah. Then I was like, hmmm. Finally I said, "i'll just pretend the other dude was more girly." So it wasn't too bad.
This is the 3rd in this series about a vampire hunter who is half human, half vampire. This book felt weird. Like there were no transitions between events. Just bam, "then we did this", and all of sudden now we're doing what we were just talking about. It felt rushed. I was disappointed cause the previous two books were pretty good. Oh, well.
The only thing this book needed was more sex. Otherwise it was pretty good. I'd read a book from the series back at Xmas, so I already knew what the paranormal situation was, so that may have helped. The main characters were well written and interesting and there was a pretty good bad guy. I'm gonna keep reading the series. Anyone want to borrow this one?
Holy moly!!!! I just finished it and, WOW. It was taking me forever to read because the first 350-400 pages are all about the shitty life of Acheron before he receives his god powers. And it contained nothing but torture, pain, violence, cruelty, degradation and shattered hopes. It was hard because Ash is such a great character in all of Kenyons other books and I didn't want to read about all of his grief. But you have to read about the bad shit to truly appreciate when the good happens. Part 1 of the book also told the story of how the gods were involved in his life.
She hasn't disappointed me yet. Granted, I've only read three of her books, but damn they were good. If you want to read a paranormal romance that has everything a good romance should have, read one of her books from the Immortals After Dark Series. I finished the 2nd earlier this week. You don't have to read them in any kind of order (although its nice to do so). I think what I like best about her stories is the tension between the main characters cause it makes for great sex scenes. And each book involves different paranormal characters. So you have werewolves, vampires, valkyries and demons to choose from. I let Robin borrow the first in the series at last nights bookclub but if anyone else is interested I have two others available, but I think they are worth paying the $7 for.
This is the second in the series about bounty-hunter turned vampire Anna Strong. These are not romances. Just good ol' sci-fi actiony stuff. Anna solves a crime-mystery in this one. The first book in the series was better (I think Robin has it now). This one is too much about her controlling her rage and her vampire powers. I like the first person perspective its written in though. It's different. I would still recommend the first book. Even though its not technically labeled a romance it still has sex in it. 
Kresley Cole is my new Sherilyn Kenyon. This is the Immortals after Dark Series. I think this is the third book, but each book is about a new set of characters so you can kinda start with any book without being too lost. This one was about a Fey Witch and a Lykae. What I enjoy about her books, so far, is that the main characters don't immediately like each other. In fact they try to kill each other. And they try realllly hard not to lust after one another, but eventually succumb to their desires. I read this in a day, that's how much I got into it. It's a fun, adventurous, paranormal romance. I would definitely recommend it.
I liked this one, BUT there was more about it that I didnt like that out weighed the good bits. It wasn't nearly as good as the first in the series (High Stakes) and I think it had to do with the personalities of the main characters. I didn't care for either main character at all. Actually, i may have only liked the book because it contined some of the story from the first one. So if you're interested in reading the first book, let me know, cause its reallllly good.
This book was a great recommendation! It gave me everything that I've been wanting from Anita Blake. (I still never made it to her nympho books!) Anna is strong but not so cocky that she drives me crazy and does stupid stuff to prove it. I liked that the vampire stuff wasnt so typical 'only after dark, garlic is bad, sleep in coffin' stuff too. Thanks Rachel!
There is one sentence that made me love this book more than any I've read lately. And to learn what that is you'll have to read it for yourself. It's the third in a series but each book is about a different character so you dont miss out on too much. The first two were pretty good but I think this is the best of them yet. They're fun, quick reads and there's plenty of studly guys and sex. I would highly recommend the series. I know for sure that Betty would love these.
This is the fifth installment of this series about vampire spies protecting the US from terrorists. I'm not sure why I keep reading these. There is hot vamp sex, but the main character, Daphne, acts like a hormonal moody teenage. She even admits to it. I don't really like the choices she makes. i do enjoy the action (both spy and sex). I tend to read these really quick. The first in the series was probably the best, so if you're interested give me a shout.
I finished it. It was a bit disappointing in that nothing major happened or was accomplished. I think Harris is setting up the next book to have something BIG happen (like Sookie realizing Eric is perfect for her). I still enjoyed it though. I like how Harris captures the way a southern gal talks. It flows really well. Don't ya think so, "my lover"?
Just finished this one last night. It was ok. It's the second in a series about Gloriana St. Clair, a vampire. In this book she's like a wild nympho. All she thinks about is sex. The ending was surprising and I liked the book more for it. I expect any future books to really dive into developing the character more, but I'm sure there'll still be lots of sex too. 
YES!!! I've found another series that is awesome (so far). This book was great! The main characters are Emmaline (i love the name) a half vampire/half valkyrie and Lachlaine, king of the Lykae (werewolves). Lachlaine realizes that Emma is his mate and captures her and takes her back to his castle. At first neither one can stand each other. There's great tension, and some "steamy" scenes. I'm pretty sure anyone in DBC would enjoy this one.
I've finished it!!! I wouldn't say it's the best in the series...what can beat Eric with amnesia?! But it wasn't bad. I think Charlaine Harris used this book as an oppertunity to wrap up some long dragged out issues and set up some new story points. We finally get something we've wanted for a bit, although I would have liked to see it actually go farther. I think we may have seen the last of a few characters for the time being as well. The last chapter reveals something that will definetly play into the future and I have some ideas on how. You guys need to read it!!
Robin and Betty might like this one. I found it in the Fantasy section, because it's not "technically" a romance (kinda like how Anita Blake isn't "technically" a romance). It about a chick who is a bounty hunter and she becomes a vampire and is introduced to the vamp world. She goes through a lot of changes and discovers her new powers. There is some sex thrown in, and a bit of ass-kicking as well.. It's a pretty short book with short chapters (which make you feel like you're reading faster). I enjoyed it and will probably pick up the next one (there are two more). Let me know if you're interested.
